Feeling Is Healing

Feeling is healing.

Despite what most of us have been taught throughout our lives, crying is not a sign of weakness.
To allow ourselves such an emotional release is a sign of great strength.
We allow ourselves to feel moments that are normally compartmentalized. These moments are typically that of extreme emotion and can transport our minds back to the heart of that memory. When we allow ourselves to truly feel these moments, we clear a path, allowing it to finally exit from our bodies.
We release ourselves from the chokehold that it has on our present day selves.

Unlike our conditioning, we are not meant to push past these moments.
We are not supposed to throw them into our backpack to be carried for the rest of our lives. It will deteriorate your mind, body and spirit. The weight will combine with the others and pull you into the ground.
At some point, you will no longer be able to move forward.

Think of a pack mule who is carrying over their threshold. They no longer are able to work at their full capacity. Overtime, their muscles will fatigue and their joints will wear down.
The same goes for us.

These emotions and experiences carry stress with them that burrows deep within our bodies. Interlacing itself within the marrow of our bones and the blood that courses our veins.
This stress, once intertwined, will constantly prohibit your body from working in the full force that it is able to. Overtime, it will leave you with a failing body and a crumbling mind.

We are not designed to hold onto these experiences.
We are designed to be free and to be.
It is hard to think of this, let alone do, within our modern world as we are constantly exposed to stressors and extreme moments occurring beyond our control. These experiences bind together to create spiral of doom, sucking us into the center and consuming us whole.

Yet, this does not mean we have to accept defeat.

We are humans at the end of the day.
We have continued to defy our constrictions to evolve and adapt to a life in which we can survive.
Our current experience is no different.
