Triggers

Oh how funny it is to be transported back into ones child mind. To be so far from those experiences yet to be so close at the drop of a dime.

Despite the work and years of growth that has been done, we are never fully finished with learning from our past.

In moments of extreme reactions, there are points of insight that allow us a closer look into what is our inner realms. Tears are produced from the rivers of our thoughts, coming from the pools of our mind. They can take us to the source of their becoming, the spring that fuels their flow. When we cry, it is a moment to reflect.

When we block our tears, it is like blocking a river. A dam begins to build and the water begins to pool. Overtime, this can cause extreme distress to the blockade that was built to contain it. Tears are not meant to be withheld. They are not a sign of weakness. They are a signal that something is overfilling.

The spring in which they stem from is in need of tending.
To cry is a beautiful experience of process and release.

Unlike our conditioning, one should not feel shameful when tears want to emerge. We should embrace the experience and allow for them to flow freely without judgment.
We would not judge nature for creating a new creek when a pond has overfilled.

These moments are growth opportunities.
We must be gentle and tread lightly with ourselves during these high intensity moments. For the ones who judge us, we should not pay any mind to their discrepancies for our experiences.

As humans, our experiences are so unique.
Each one tailored specifically for us and our perception on the matter. To be caught up within another’s thought of our own is only a disservice to us and our own lives.
